CPF Sponsored Bills
In 2007, California Professional Firefighters won for its members the most extensive on-the-job protections enjoyed by any public worker -- the Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights. CPF also won health care protection for widows of fallen federal firefighters, new anti-terrorism funding and legislation streamlining firefighter car insurance reporting.
Believe it or not, that was just the first year of a two-year legislative session.
While the 2007-2008 Legislative Session is already a success, CPF is turning with new urgency to the 2008 legislative year. CPF's ambitious 2008 legislative agenda, approved unanimously by the CPF Executive Board, is being transformed into an aggressive package of bills on behalf of CPF members, which state lawmakers will consider during the 2008 session.
