CPF Bill Package Implements Blue Ribbon Task Force Findings

In response to the devastating wildfires that ravaged through Southern California last fall, CPF will be introducing a package of bills this year based on recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Fire Commission Task Force. 

The 14-member Task Force, comprised of fire professionals in labor and management, has been meeting over the past several years in order to keep the focus on the state's critical wildland firefighting needs.

The Task Force held its first post-2007 fires meeting last November and identified a range of priorities, including upgrades in local government, pre-event staffing, equipment and apparatus, as well as a new approach to land use. 

CPF has taken an active role on the Commission and will be sponsoring several bills this year to address these issues.
