Local 1014 Strike Team Puts OES Engines Into Service

In late June, Los Angeles County Firefighters Local 1014 members traveled to Sacramento on a mission that represented a milestone for their department.

The 22-member strike team -- deployed to battle the Northern California firestorm -- battled the blaze in the department's first Type 3 engines.

The five engines are the latest in a group of 15 new OES Type 3 engines being deployed around the state.

On June 29, the strike team outfitted the engines at OES headquarters in Sacramento.
