Burbank FFs Pres. Lew Stone Sworn In as New CPF Secretary-Treasurer
A 60-day Special Election to fill the post of CPF Secretary-Treasurer has ended with the election of Burbank Fire Fighters Local 778 President Lew Stone.
Stone, who has served as CPF 2nd District Vice President since 2001, was sworn in this week at a meeting of the CPF Executive Board.
"I'm truly honored at the trust the members of CPF have placed in me," Stone said. "I am committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and fiscal responsibility. I will also put my experience and dedication to work on behalf of all CPF member locals."
Conducted pursuant to action taken at the 2008 CPF Convention, the special election fills the vacancy created by the passing of CPF Secretary-Treasurer Dallas Jones.
Local union balloting was conducted pursuant to election rules unanimously approved by the CPF Executive Board. The CPF Special Elections Committee conducted the official count at CPF headquarters in Sacramento following the close of balloting on July 16th.
The election of Stone as Secretary-Treasurer leaves a vacancy in the post of 2nd District Vice President. Pursuant to the CPF Constitution and Bylaws, a special election will be held among members of the 2nd District to fill the seat.
